GEORGE W. PFEIFFER      

George Pfeiffer earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in economics (cum laude) from Stanford University in 1977 and a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) in 1980 from McGeorge School of Law (University of the Pacific), George was admitted to the California State Bar in 1980. He is also admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Northern and Eastern Districts of California.

George began his practice of law with the firm of Lillick, McHose & Charles in San Francisco in 1980. In 1982, he joined the Walnut Creek firm of Gibbons, Stoddard, Lepper and Falco. In 1991, he formed Stoddard, Falco & Pfeiffer which later became Stoddard, Pfeiffer, Bergquist & Wood. In 2001, George started his own practice. George’s daughter, Laura Pfeiffer, joined his firm in 2010. George and Laura became law partners in 2016 when they formed Pfeiffer Law, LLP.

George’s practice previously included admiralty, real estate and public entity law. In the 1990s, he expanded his practice to family law, which has become the major emphasis of his practice. He still offers estate planning services to clients as well as limited civil litigation. The highlight of his civil litigation practice was as counsel for Defendants in a five-week jury trial in Southern California which resulted in a verdict for the defense.

George is a member of the Contra Costa County Bar Association. He has served the Family Law Section of the County Bar Association in various capacities, most notably as editor of the In Chancery newsletter, and program chairman, as well as President, Vice President, and Secretary for the Family Law Section

LAURA J. PFEIFFER    

Laura received her Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree from the University of Oregon in 2003, Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from Seattle University (cum laude) in 2008, and LLM in Taxation from the University of Denver in 2020. Laura is admitted to practice law in California, Colorado and Washington. She previously served on the board of the Family Law Section of the Contra Costa County Bar Association.

Laura started her career practicing criminal law as a Deputy District Attorney at the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office. While at the DA’s office, she gained significant litigation experience while prosecuting criminal cases in front of both juries and judges. Laura transitioned to family law when she joined her father, George Pfeiffer, as an associate in 2010. George and Laura became law partners in 2016 when they formed Pfeiffer Law, LLP.

KELLI-MARIE MILES     

Kelli joined George at the Law Offices of George W. Pfeiffer in 2006. Since then, she obtained her Paralegal Certificate and notary, managed the business and assisted clients in document preparation, copying, and filing.
